EarnOn Community Guidelines

Last updated: 01 August 2026

These Community Guidelines are part of the EarnOn Terms of Service and apply to everyone using EarnOn, including the core creator platform and EarnOn Events. They explain what kind of Content and conduct is and isn't allowed, and what happens if you violate them.

1. Who These Guidelines Cover

These guidelines apply to hosts, guests, creators, subscribers, and anyone else posting Content or interacting with others on EarnOn. Hosts are also subject to our separate Host Standards, which cover host-specific obligations in more detail — where the two documents overlap, Host Standards controls for host-specific conduct.

2. Content Standards

Everything you post — event listings, photos and videos, reviews, messages, comments, profile information — must meet these standards.

2.1 Accuracy. Event listings must describe the event, venue, and what's included truthfully. Photos of the venue or event must be genuine, not stock images or images of a different location. Ticket tiers and add-ons must reflect what's actually offered. Misleading listings are treated as a policy violation and may also trigger buyer refund rights under our Payment & Refund Policy.

2.2 No Harassment or Hate. Don't post Content that harasses, threatens, or demeans another person based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic. This applies in event listings, reviews, messages, and any post-event proof or dispute evidence you submit.

2.3 No Impersonation. Don't create an account or event listing impersonating another person, brand, or organization you're not authorized to represent.

2.4 Respect Privacy. Don't post personal or sensitive information about someone else — including photos that clearly identify a private individual at an event — without their permission. This is particularly important for post-event proof media, which should focus on demonstrating the event took place, not on identifying attendees who haven't consented to appearing in it.

2.5 No Prohibited Content. In addition to the categories our Payment & Refund Policy prohibits from being sold or listed, you may not post Content depicting or promoting illegal activity, graphic violence, or content that sexualizes or endangers minors. This applies regardless of whether payment is involved.

2.6 Reviews Must Reflect Genuine Experience. Only review an event you actually attended. Don't post a fake review, and don't offer or accept payment in exchange for a review.

3. Conduct Standards

3.1 Real-World Safety. EarnOn Events involves meeting people in person. Treat other attendees and hosts with the same care and respect you'd expect in any real-world setting. Threats, physical aggression, or unsafe conduct at an event — whether reported by a host or a guest — may result in immediate account suspension pending review.

3.2 No Circumventing Escrow or Payment Systems. Don't attempt to arrange payment for a ticket outside EarnOn's wallet system, and don't attempt to exceed the resale price cap on ticket transfers described in our Payment & Refund Policy. Both are treated as an attempt to bypass the protections that keep buyers and hosts safe.

3.3 No Manipulating Check-In. Don't attempt to fake your location during check-in, share your presence token or door code with someone who isn't the ticket holder, or otherwise attempt to check in without genuinely being at the venue. This undermines the trust the entire check-in and payout system depends on.

3.4 No Fraudulent Disputes. Raising an issue in bad faith — for example, falsely claiming an event didn't happen when you simply didn't attend — is a violation of these guidelines and may result in the loss of dispute privileges or account suspension for repeat offenders.

3.5 Respectful Communication. Messages between hosts and guests, whether in-app chat or a dispute case, should stay respectful and on-topic. Abusive language toward support staff or Trust & Safety reviewers is grounds for account action.

4. Reporting Content or Conduct

If you encounter Content or behavior that violates these guidelines:

  • On a specific ticket or event issue, use Raise an issue — this creates a case reviewed by our Trust & Safety team and, where relevant, connects to the refund process in our Payment & Refund Policy.
  • For general Content or account reports not tied to a specific ticket, use the Report option available on the relevant listing, profile, or message.

We review reports and take action based on the severity and pattern of the violation — a single report doesn't automatically mean a violation occurred, and we look at context before acting.

5. Enforcement

Depending on the severity and whether it's a first-time or repeat violation, we may:

  • Remove the specific Content
  • Issue a warning
  • Temporarily restrict certain features (for example, pausing a host's ability to publish new listings)
  • Suspend or terminate the account
  • Freeze a host's pending payout pending review, as described in our Terms of Service
  • Report illegal activity to law enforcement where required

If you believe an enforcement action was taken in error, you can appeal through in-app support.

6. Changes to These Guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time. Material changes will be communicated the same way as changes to our Terms of Service — see Section 1.2 of the Terms of Service for details.
