EarnOn Events — Payment & Refund Policy
Last updated: 01 August 2026
This policy explains how payments, cancellations, reschedules, and refunds work for tickets purchased through EarnOn Events. It applies to every event listed on the platform, regardless of host or event type.
Unlike some event platforms, EarnOn Events has no recurring group memberships or subscription dues — every payment is tied to a specific ticket for a specific event. This policy covers that single case in full.
1. Prohibited Payments
EarnOn's integrated wallet and payment processing (EAON token, via our eWallet partner) cannot be used to list or sell tickets for:
- Adult content, escort services, or sex solicitation
- Drugs, alcohol, tobacco, drug paraphernalia, or similar items
- Gambling, betting, or games of chance
- Weapons, ammunition, or weaponry accessories
- Multi-level marketing pitches, pyramid schemes, or Ponzi schemes
- Any unlawful activity, or the promotion of unlawful goods or services
Events found in violation are removed and the host's payout is frozen pending Trust & Safety review, regardless of how many tickets have already sold.
2. How Ticket Payments Work
When a buyer purchases a ticket, the full amount (ticket price + any add-ons + the 5% buyer processing fee) is held in escrow — it does not go to the host immediately. Escrow releases automatically 48 hours after the event's scheduled end time, minus an 8% platform fee, provided no dispute has been raised.
This escrow window exists specifically so that refunds remain possible for a period after the event, without requiring the host to have funds on hand to reverse a transaction.
3. Cancelling a Ticket — Refund Guidance for Buyers
Every host sets their own cancellation policy at the tier they choose: 24-hour, 48-hour, or 72-hour full-refund windows before the event start time. This is shown on the event listing before checkout, and again at the time of purchase.
At minimum, EarnOn Events guarantees a refund in the following circumstances, regardless of what cancellation tier the host selected:
- The event is rescheduled. You are notified immediately and given the choice to keep your ticket for the new date or request a full refund — this refund is not subject to the host's normal cancellation window, since the change was the host's decision, not yours. You have 7 days (or until the new event date, whichever comes first) to decide. If you don't respond, your ticket is kept valid for the new date by default.
- The event is cancelled by the host or by EarnOn before it takes place.
- The host's account is suspended or removed from the platform before the event takes place.
- Fewer than 50% of tickets are checked in at an event — remaining escrow for no-show tickets is automatically refunded rather than released to the host, since this signals the event likely did not proceed as listed.
Refund requests outside these guaranteed circumstances are subject to whatever cancellation tier the host published — cancelling within that host's stated window returns your payment in full; cancelling after it does not, unless one of the guarantees above applies.
4. Requesting a Refund
Step 1 — Raise it through the app, not the host directly. From your ticket, select Raise an issue and describe what happened. This creates a case visible to both the host and EarnOn's Trust & Safety team — it is not a private message to the host, by design, so there's a record either side can point to.
Step 2 — The 48-hour dispute window. Once raised, escrow for that ticket is frozen immediately — funds cannot release to the host while a dispute is open, even if the standard 48-hour post-event window has already passed.
Step 3 — Resolution. Trust & Safety reviews the evidence (event proof, check-in records, chat history between host and buyer, geolocation of check-in if applicable) and resolves in one of three ways: full refund to buyer, partial settlement, or release to host. You'll be notified of the outcome directly in the app.
EarnOn can only refund payments made through the platform's integrated EAON wallet. We cannot resolve disputes over payments made in cash, off-platform, or through any method outside the app.
5. Ticket Transfers
If you can no longer attend, you may transfer your ticket to another EarnOn user — free of charge, or for a fee you set.
- A transferred ticket's resale price can never exceed the original price you paid. No markup is permitted.
- If the event is later cancelled or rescheduled with a refund, that refund always returns to whoever originally purchased the ticket — never to whoever the ticket was transferred to. If you buy a transferred ticket, this is disclosed to you clearly before you pay, since it affects what you're financially exposed to if the event doesn't happen.
- Paid transfers are peer-to-peer payments between the sender and recipient, separate from event escrow. They are not eligible for a platform-issued refund the way an original ticket purchase is.
6. What EarnOn Will Not Help Refund
- The event simply didn't meet your expectations. A live event not matching what you personally hoped for isn't grounds for a refund — this is true of any live experience.
- You purchased an optional add-on and changed your mind. Add-ons (photo packages, cabana upgrades, etc.) follow the same cancellation window as your base ticket — once that window closes, the add-on is non-refundable along with it.
- You missed the event and didn't check in, and 50% or more of the event's tickets did check in. This signals the event happened as listed; no-show tickets in this case are treated as attended for payout purposes.
- You cancelled outside the host's published cancellation window, and none of the guaranteed circumstances in Section 3 apply.
In any of these situations, you're still welcome to contact the host directly through in-app chat — many hosts will work something out even where EarnOn's policy doesn't guarantee a refund — but EarnOn's Trust & Safety team will not intervene on your behalf.
7. For Hosts
You set your own cancellation policy tier at listing creation. You may reschedule an event once per listing, provided it's done before your check-in window opens; a second reschedule is not permitted — cancel and relist instead. Payouts release automatically 48 hours after your event ends, provided no dispute is open against it at that time.
